“In the fall of 2023, our son Mark was repeatedly feeling sick. He was experiencing coughs, colds and fevers. His primary care doctor attributed Mark’s symptoms to asthma. One evening Mark felt unusually weak and his father’s intuition told him to take Mark to the emergency room. After numerous tests, Mark was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) in December 2023. My husband and I took time away from work to ensure that we could fully support Mark during the long road ahead of him. Between the hospital visits and chemotherapy, our son has remained strong, upbeat and courageous. Mark’s temperament throughout this ordeal has inspired our entire family. Despite the many financial challenges we have encountered, foundations like P4 Childhood Cancer Foundation have helped ease the burden and help us breathe easier.
